|  Audre at Art Uptown Gallery in Sarasota Artist Statement: audreart@aol.com I am currently involved in using a mix media approach in my paintings. Since retiring from teaching art, I have returned to my love of painting. I am a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. My art has been greatly influenced by a local artist in Florida, Barbara Simmons who introduced me to the many techniques that work well on yupo paper. This paper has allowed me to combine watercolors, acrylics, dyes, stamps and pastels into my paintings. The subject matter of my paintings range from whimsical animals to free form and geometric shapes with an emphasis on color.  I currently belong to the following art organizations: -
